Cranks Around the Campfire MTB Festival

August 24-26th 2012

Back again is the area's premiere mountain biking camping festival! Northwest New Jersey is the place to be for a long weekend of mountain biking action! The festival grows this year with sponsorship from JORBA (Jersey Off Road Bicycling Association) and Marty's Reliable Cycles.  Expect a lot of the same wonderful events and activities that JORBA offers annually at their JORBAFEST event.  Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced rides will be offered twice a day and will explore the diverse terrain of Allamuchy, Stephens, and Deer Park.  There will be skinnies to ride, a Huffy toss, a challenging hill climb contest, bike polo, and much more!
     Many off-the-bike events are planned for the whole family.  Head to the dining hall Friday night for a double feature mtb movie night.  Saturday night join your fellow bikers for a campfire at Council Point.  Children can experience the outdoors with camp staff participating in nature hikes, fishing, handicrafts, waterfront activities, and much more. 

The festival  benefits youth mountain biking programs at the Mt. Allamuchy Scout Reservation and trail building and advocacy by JORBA. 

Admission to the festival is free for children under 18 years old.  Please no pets on reservation property.  If you'd like to bring a small RV please contact us to make arrangements.


For those looking for some competition, the crew at mtbNJ bring you the 2nd Annual Mooch Madness race.  Come out and race on the area's best trails and stay to celebrate the sport of mountain biking all weekend long!

Group rides will be led by local experts and will be no drop.  There will be something for all.  

Bring a friend or family and introduce them to the sport.  The camp has a fleet of 30 bikes by Giant and Trek that will be available for rent (includes helmet) for the weekend and session. Beginners can start the weekend off right with a full course on the basics of mountain biking Friday afternoon.
